Eggs are a great super food for breakfast or anytime really (when I was young my father would make omelets on Sunday evenings to give my mom a break, or he would make egg-foe-young (omelets with Chinese vegetables and a gravy under. It sounds nasty but it was divine). With just 74 calories for one large egg, they are such a great source of protein.
Eggs are rich in leucine(amino acid that gives glucose to the muscles), and choline(anti-inflammatory). They also contain B vitamin, thiamin and riboflavin.
Eggs are packed with protein and monounsaturated fat. These qualities help stabilize blood sugar.
The controversy over eggs’ cholesterol impact is very controversial. One year they are heart attack inducing, the next year they aren’t. The most recent studies show they will NOT raise blood cholesterol. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/cholesterol.html .
According to the Journal of Nutrition, one egg can keep macular degeneration at bay.
Eggs are considered a complete protein. They contain all nine essential amino acids that your body uses to build muscle.
There are brown eggs, fortified eggs, pasteurized egg whites, powdered egg whites, and packaged egg whites to choose from. The egg yolks have the vitamin D, but more of the cholesterol. You should pick what works with your eating plan and the one that you like.
